The Re-use Project
The Furniture Re-use project re-distribute donated items of furniture, some electrical items and household linens to families and individuals living on a low income. Some clients are referred to the projects by local social/welfare agencies, but there is always the opportunity for clients to self refer.
Referral Form
All of the recycling and re-use initiatives are delivered by a vast number of local volunteers trained to provide every aspect of these important community based services. For more information regarding volunteering with Rainbow Services, please visit our Volunteer Development Project page.
If you have items to donate or you would like to access the project please ring 01279 308151 or email jean@rainbowservices.org.uk
PLEASE NOTE! Foil Recycling and Paint Donation
As of March 2008, Rainbow Services is unfortunatly unable to take donations of paint. Our Re-use and Recycling Project has moved premises to Units 2 and 6 of the Latton Bush Business Centre and concequently due to storage limitations along with focussing on the furniture re-use side of the project we are no longer offering the Re>Paint scheme.
We have also been collecting aluminium foil from various recycing points around Harlow for the past few years in our electric vehicle - the Eco Wagon. The Eco Wagon will continue to be used, but again focussing on the furniture project i.e. making small deliveries and collections. Therefore unfortunately we will no longer be collecting aluminium foil.
Freecycle Network
If you have unwanted items that you would like to pass onto someone else rather than throwing away, why not visit the Harlow Free Cycle Network
Freecycle is a free local service in which individuals can post requests for items as well as offer unwanted items.
